I will have to do some digging to find when it happened.
Avatar
Do the test you mentioned earlier
1:32 AM
Be like
Avatar
I'll have to wait for my gf to wake up, then.
Avatar
It's 10:10am and I'm going to ask their tulpa to poke mine somewhere, or whatever the fuck it is you do
1:33 AM
and once they claim to feel it
1:33 AM
Ask where it was SPECIFICALLY
1:33 AM
mark it down
1:33 AM
then ask
1:33 AM
and record that
1:33 AM
Do that like 20-50 times
1:33 AM
and don't fudge the data
1:33 AM
You need to break down the anatomy more too
Avatar
It's definitely been done more times than that, but as far as recording it, yeah probably only around 20-50 cases.
Avatar
So like poking the knee isn't equal to an entire leg
1:34 AM
Because that'll increase the odds of a false positive
Avatar
understandable.
1:34 AM
I usually ask 'where on the ' and then whatever part.
Avatar
Like I said what you're probably experiencing is shared availability bias
1:35 AM
And you say that doesn't apply, but it absolutely could
Avatar
Probably got lost somewhere in the mess that was earlier. I don't know what a 'shared availability bias' is.
Avatar
Like if I tell you My grandmother was murdered
1:36 AM
And lay out on a cloth a bunch of shit
1:36 AM
And ask you which was the murder weapon
1:36 AM
You'll pick the same fucking thing as most people
Avatar
knife would be my answer, since guns aren't always lethal
1:37 AM
especially handguns.
1:37 AM
so probably not most people's answer.
Avatar
Right but I bet a lot of people would also answer knife
1:37 AM
and yeah.
1:37 AM
I understand that point.
Avatar
Be very careful doing experiments at home, it's easy to bias the results in a ton of very small ways. Studies have been done where just having someone in the room who knows the answer to a question can lead to people guessing out the answer through subconscious clues. There are a good number of "we proved vision at a distance!" studies that turned out to fail once controlled properly. (edited)
Avatar
So maybe both your tulpas just happened to pick knife
1:37 AM
20 times in a row
1:38 AM
Or instead of knife
1:38 AM
they picked "vague sharp object not specific enough to be considered wrong"
1:38 AM
in which case 20x of that being correct, actually isn't that unlikely (edited)
Avatar
Great reference point Reguile.
Avatar
Ah. I can see that. I'll consider that when I do the test. Maybe I can introduce a randomizer like a random number generator and assign each number a body part to touch.
1:42 AM
Unfortunately, I will have difficulty eliminating the possibility of my needed interaction, combined with my knowledge, leading to guessing based on body language. I could try not being present and instead asking through text, but I'm not sure if that'd fix it. (edited)
Avatar
While technically possible reguile I don't think it'd be anywhere near important enough to greatly influence a test like this (edited)
1:43 AM
Through text?
1:43 AM
As opposed to what?
Avatar
being there asking her in person what pose Serena's in or something like that.
Avatar
I see
1:45 AM
So you were both there
Avatar
Yes, we used to be long distance, but we're now living together, so it might mean there will be additional things to account for.
Avatar
Still, I don't think you could get a lucky read that many times
1:45 AM
It's possible but
1:45 AM
I don't think it's enough to overcome the unlikelyhood
Avatar
Well, if you're thinking that's too unlikely, well, I find it more likely she could guess from that then what she was given before.
1:50 AM
So if you think that won't mess up the results enough to be invalid, what we did before was more valid in my opinion. Granted, it was sporadic, done when there was an opening and not all at once, which made collecting that data hard, but... there are records of it on my girlfriend's account she had. I did delete my account I had at the time because I unintentionally got someone who was toxically obsessed watching for whenever I'd come online and stuff.
1:52 AM
That one's a different story, but point is, I can probably find the text archives to prove it. Just would have to filter out all the unrelated stuff, which there was lots of.
Avatar
Just do it again
2:24 AM
If you can't get substantially better than random results then you'll have your answer
2:29 AM
And if you do, then make the test harder, remove any body language reading que possibilities, and up the sample test count from 20-50 to 100-300

Hey, how would people explain introjects having better grammar than the entire system? For context, I knew a system on discord (seperate from me and my girlfriend) who wanted to experience my tulpa system hopping to their system after I said it was something I was able to do (which I believed based on the experiences I was arguing for above).
1:18 PM
After a bit of text conversation with this person's tulpa to get an idea of their personality and identifying traits, I allowed Serena to 'go there'. She did shortly after disappear from my system, and then I asked the account if she was there yet a few seconds later to confirm, and they responded with something like 'yep she here' or something like that, and then 'wow she pretty. This is her?' To which I asked them to describe her and they said 'very purple. Human looking' which I said that she definitely isn't human, but they still saw her as human looking, but I realized they might mean anthro, (as Serena did have an anthro form she changed to and from a lot), so I asked 'do you mean anthropomorphic?' And they said that they don't know what that word means, but they think so.
1:18 PM
I then texted 'Serena, are you there? I just want to ask you directly to make sure.'. I got a response from her saying 'Serena: yes I'm here Donovan. I'm going to have fun, now. I'll talk to you later'. This definitely sounded like something Serena would say so I was pretty sure that it was her and not a copy. I'm bringing this up, now, because I didn't think it was much more concrete than what I already said, but my girlfriend pointed out that Serena had better grammar when she replied through the other account, which indicates pretty strongly that Serena's better grammar came with her when she went to the other mindscape, or else an introject with better grammar was somehow created exactly at or close to the same time as my tulpa instead became dormant, and the dormancy only ended once she was 'sent back'. The issue with the second answer is that it leaves a hole in how that grammar improvement happened. Based on this one interaction, people might assume luck, but this was consistent in all attempts to talk to Serena when I have her system hop. And on top of that, when I have her system hop back, she has extra memories pertaining to what happened in the other system, which I have occasionally tried verifying with the system she went to and it's never been inconsistent between what Serena says happened and what the other system says happened.
Avatar
First of all fuck system hopping
Avatar
Giving a shit, to put it simply Gavin isn't no introject but he types more formally than me
1:28 PM
Orhu, don't be so blunt..... 😦
Avatar
I can be blunt with system hopping
Avatar
I also don't think system hopping is real but say that, don't just say "fuck system hopping", it doesn't promote conversation
Avatar
It's so frequently used as a way to manipulate vulnerable systems and I fucking hate that people do it
1:29 PM
that's why I say fuck system hopping
Avatar
well you know that includes those vulnerable systems that are being manipualted...?
1:29 PM
and when they're doing it, they generally don't think they're doing it against their will
Avatar
I've seen cases where someone asks about an alter seeming to have disappeared and being afraid they went dormant, only for some other person to stroll in and say "Oh, your alter came over to my system. They say you should do this and this and this for me if you want them to come back."
1:31 PM
I've seen that multiple times
1:31 PM
And its fucking awful
Avatar
but to put it shortly, Donovan, the improvement in grammar isn't a strong sign in my eyes- bring me an introject who really can speak a different language that the body has never learned, or some other more concrete skill, and we can talk about that
1:32 PM
Suddenly typing with gravitas when the other headmates don't is like, the most stereotypical way of trying to make yourself out as the uber intense/serious/cool/deep/magic one that I can think of
Avatar
"Typing quirks" are also a thing some people do (edited)
Avatar
Although it's not always a bad sign, I mean oftentimes it's really just a sign of being awkward- the excess formality happens because they aren't familar with slang and all the little nuances, the in-jokes, etc
1:34 PM
Cassidy's very first journal entries are all stiff and very very formal, and to many's eye they might say he "worsened" with time because he's a lot more conversational now
1:34 PM
And yeah, that too Orhu
1:35 PM
if someone has been going "Ohh nowow I can onwly typeeee likkkeee thiisss" at you, an alter not doing that might seem crazy
Avatar
It's not 'formal'. It's 'improved'
Avatar
Well, you gotta bring examples to the table for me, man
1:36 PM
Show me some screenshots of a sample of the old and the improved grammar
Avatar
Or like "WOW LOOK AT ME TYPING IN CAPS TO SEEM HIGH ENERGY AND/OR COMPLETELY BATSHIT INSANE"
Avatar
Otherwise this is just a he said/she said
Avatar
How does an 'introject' tulpa, especially one formed in the moment, have instantly good grammar when prior interaction with other non-'introject' tulpas suggests a very poor understanding of english?
Avatar
They don't
Avatar
And that doesent explain anything for Serena. how would she be able to get information about me and my tulpa from someone who had no direct knowledge of my life? She would essentially just need to guess and it wouldn't be right if she was guessing due to how personal it was between me and my tulpa. Unless there was a third party source but I was only talking to them at the time
Avatar
They either weren't formed in the moment, the other tulpas aren't representative of the body's engish capabilities, or you're mistaking a change in style that the body/brain was already capable of, for an "improvement"
1:39 PM
You can cold read a lot from a person
Avatar
How? Explain.
Avatar
Yesterday you were doing it donovan
Avatar
This article does it better
Avatar
Alright. Opened it up. Firstly, none of what was said by them was broad or high probability. That immediately disproves 'cold reads'
Avatar
'Serena is purple' is not an easy guess, yet it was accurate. Also, not broad.
Avatar
Cold reading is a thing you get better/more accurate at the more you do it
Avatar
It's not a cold read with you, though
